Heather Carpenter has over 20 years of experience working with children and families. She got her Associates in Social Work from CCAC in 1992. Heather started her career as a residential counselor at APA/Spectrum Family Network, where she developed a love for helping children in conjugant care along with building her skill set over the next 10 years. She pursued her Bachelor’s Degree at Geneva College, but found that the pressures of raising a small family as a single parent and working was enough on her plate at the time.
Heather had the opportunity to further enhance her skill set when she took a job at A Second Chance, Inc. as a point of contact caseworker where she has worked for the last 14 years. She continues the mission to strengthen and preserve healthy families for children in her current position as a supervisor.
A short discussion with her will quickly let you know that she does this work as a ministry due to her love and passion for seeing the best in everyone’s life that she touches. Heather got into this field to be for others what she felt she needed when she was a child in the system. She has found her most success empowering the adults that have the special task of caring for the precious cargo of children that have unwillingly been dragged into the “system”.
When working with Heather, you can look forward to engaging with a person who sees each moment as an opportunity to positively impact someone’s life; whether through a smile, a kind encouraging word or sincere transparent conversation. As an independent contractor with PersectVe LLC, she utilizes her skills as a Life-Coach to help children and adults increase their wellbeing within numerous domains of life.
